Your new place has a pre-installed home security system
Many times after you buy a home, you’ll find that the previous owners used a home security system. All the devices function well, are placed in the right spaces, and are ready to go. In this example, all you may have to do is to call and establish a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to ensure there are no usability issues, and they may offer ideas on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a fast appointment, and you can get your monitoring set up without paying for any new devices -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can move an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal transfer fee to make your life easier. If the owners are moving to a condo or smaller home, turning over the security service might be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and take your existing equipment with you
You may want to bring along your favorite Vivint system with you to your new house when you move. That’s pretty easy to do, as many components are portable. You can uninstall each alarm or camera by yourself or use a professional expert to come and take care of everything. Then an expert will put in the same features -- and any new devices you need -- in the new house. And your home security contract will stay the same.
